Gecko Gold
Overview
The project is underlain by metasediments of the Damaran Supergroup dominated by a turbiditic sequence of metapelites of the Kuiseb Formation which hosts the Twin Hills gold deposit of Osino Resources just 20 km south of the Erongo Project. The project area is prospective for orogenic gold mineralization related to structures of the Damaran orogeny, lithium and other types of base metal mineralizations.
The area underwent detailed structural interpretation of the entire EPL, geophysical data and detailed mapping which led to major structural features including the Kanona Fault Zone corridor comprising of prospective second and third order structures for orogenic gold deposits. Furthermore, systematic sampling of over 8,000 soil samples accompanied by rock grab sampling delineated various targets on the license for gold and lithium mineralizations.
The soil anomalies were followed up with Ground Induced Polarization (IP), Electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic geophysical surveys to delineate drill targets. To date, a total of 2,462 m has been completed on the Kanona North Target. Results confirmed structurally controlled arsenic-gold mineralization associated with second and third order structures but appeared to be too low grade. The company plans on extending drone and ground geophysical surveys throughout the project area to delineate more drill targets.
The Erongo project is covered by Exclusive Prospecting License 6440.
